In a few weeks New England's final regional bridge tournament for 2022 will be held at the Southbridge Hotel and Conference Center at 12 Mechanic Road in Southbridge, MA. It runs from Tuesday November 15 through Saturday November 19. I think that you will be impressed with this new facility.

The tournament's schedule features games for both pairs and teams carefully tailored to the needs of players of all level of experience. On Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday "Gold Rush Graduate" events have been scheduled for those with less than 2250 masterpoints. If you fit into this group, these events offer an excellent opportunity to earn gold points while playing exclusively against those at your own level.

The spotlight on Wednesday and Thursday will be on the two-day KIKO teams event. This event is bracketed, which means that everyone plays against a small group of teams with roughly comparable experience.

The two separate side-game series offer the opportunity to maximize gold points before the end of the year.

The entire schedule can be found at https://nebridge.org/media/ups/SouthbridgeMA_Regional/SpectacleSchedule.pdf.

Hotel reservations can still be made by calling (508) 765-8000 and mentioning "NEBC" (New England Bridge Conference).

Where, you may ask, is Southbridge, MA? It borders on Sturbridge, and is easily reached from either I-84 or the Mass Pike. As you can see from the image at the left, it is right in the center of New England.

All five days will feature both gold points and delightful social occasions—a free smoothie on Tuesday, a registration gift on Wednesday, a hosted reception on Thursday, free lunch on Friday, and free soup at lunch on Saturday.

We have even brought back the tournament Bulletin to honor special days and provide a wealth of entertaining and informative articles about bridge in New England.

By the way, if you need a partner or teammates, contact Denise Bahosh at dbahosh@yahoo.com. Questions about the tournament, especially the exciting programs for less experienced players, should be directed to Susan Miguel at inchair@nebridge.org.

One last thing. On Wednesday Susan, the famous Fairy Goldmother, is sponsoring an exciting absolutely free all-day event for players with less than 150 points. It is called the Bridge Fest. If you know someone in that category, please make sure that they are aware of this opportunity for fun and learning with others of the same mindset. Here are the details:
